Brunswick Little Theatre Board of Directors
Biographical Sketches
Thom
Clemmons - President - This is Thom's second
year on the BLT board. He brings with him much experience, both on and off stage.
He has been involved with BLT since moving to Oak Island in 1986 in various
capacities---actor, director, musical director, and set designer and builder.
Before moving to Oak Island he performed regularly in Thalian Association shows
for 20 years. Some of his roles were Peter in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, Fredrick
in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, Curlie in OKLAHOMA, Joseph in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING
TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Tony in THE BOYFRIEND, Mike in A CHORUS LINE, and Mat
in THE FANTASTICKS. He also worked two summers with the UNC-W SRO Theater, 2
semesters with the UNC Opera Workshop, a season with Wilmington's Academy Players, and
several seasons with Wilmington's Art in the Park and the Arts Council Theater.
Both of his sons, Michael and Bobby have also performed in BLT productions.
Thom's favorite roles with BLT are Jesus in GODSPELL, Will Parker in OKLAHOMA,
Perchek in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and the Major General in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE.
He has also directed the Sea Notes and was the choir director at the First Baptist
Church of Oak Island for 3 1/2 years. He has been the tenor soloists in several
choral works with the Wilmington Choral Society and the Sea Notes. He toured
Germany as the only non-African American in the Illesheim Gospel Choir. He retired
last fall after 32 years of teaching.
Debbie Skillman - President-Elect- Debbie Skillman holds Bachelor and Master of Music degress from the ECU School of Music. She is a nationally board certified teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Music and taught public school music for thirty years. She founded the Stagestruck Players, the children's division of BLT, and has been active in local community theater as a director and performer.

Kathie
Lee - Treasurer - Kathie joined BLT
last year, and this is her first involvement with a theatre company. She appeared
in last summer's The Melody Lingers On
along with her husband, Ron. She enjoyed it so much she decided to do it again
in Up the Down Staircase, this time with her son, Kirby Carter. She hopes
to work with other family members on future productions. She looks forward to
serving on the Board of Directors and is excited about the 2005 season.
Lisa
Mastin - Secretary - A
past member of the Board of Directors for Wilmington’s Big Dawg Theatre Company,
Lisa got involved in BLT as a member in 2004 and is in her first year on our
board. In a family of performers, Lisa preferred “behind the scene’s” roles
. . . such as costuming for many of Wilmington’s theatre companies. Lisa first
got involved in theatre through her husband Eben French, who has passed down
his love of the stage to their daughters Stacey, a 7th grader at SBMS, and Kiera,
a 2nd grader at Bolivia Elementary. Lisa is looking forward to becoming more
involved in BLT and keeping it close to home!
Anne Richmond -Anne Richmond moved to Southport in late 2002, and almost immediately became alligned with the Brunswick Little Theatre. This surprised no one who knows her for a couple of reasons: first of all she has been active in community theatre since high school days, MANY years ago. She has been a Treasurer, ticket chair, director/music director, stage manager, or whatever else was needed, and has served on the governing boards of both the North Fork Community Theater (Long Island, NY) and the Potomac Theatre Company (Potomac, MD); secondly, by the time she arrived in Brunswick County, along with her husband Jonathan, another community theater stalwart, all of her resident family...daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren were already onstage, off-stage, behind stage, etc. It seemed like the place to be. (In fact, it was several months before she realized that they didn't all live at the Centennial Center!) Since arriving, she has most often been seen at the keyboard (a favorite place) rehearsing/performing in musica productions. Currently serving on the BLT Board of Directors, with a special interest in fundraising, Anne's goal is to help insure that BLT continues to provide a joyful and rewarding experience for our actors, musicians, directors, techies, and, of course, our wonderful patrons.
