Time to audition for Brunswick Little Theatre’s final production of 2023!
Once again BLT is presenting a holiday show that is extremely humorous and full of heart. The roles are all challenging and will be a ton of fun to perform. The show is “Almighty Bob” by Tom Mula and will be directed by John D’Amato
Synopsis: Bob is being checked into a nursing home. Sometimes he thinks he's God. And sometimes he's right. Bob has become too much of a handful for his daughter Karen, so they're trying a trial period at Dr. Wally's nursing home—with miraculous results!
Character Breakdown: (Ages listed are the characters appearance so if you can play that age, you will be considered):
Bob: 70 + man, charming, funny, powerful with a huge heart. Older than he wants to be. Is he God?
Karen (Bob’s Daughter): 30- to 50-year-old businesswoman. Is efficient and nice.
Dr. Wally: 30- to 50-year-old male doctor who runs the assisted living home. Is a good person but not very assertive.
Colleen: 25- to 60-year-old female social worker. She is fun! She sings a little also. Could she be an angel?
JoeyJoJo: 18 + female or male: Threatening looking person but isn’t. Is this person the “Angel of Death”?
Claire: 65 + female. At one point she uses a walker but was a fireball in her time. She sings a bit and does a little dance (could be a soft shoe and maybe a few Motown moves)
Mr. Carmichael: 30- to 65-year-old male. Never raises his voice. He’d make a good undertaker. Underneath, he is not a very nice man.
One actress (30 +) will play the following: Gladys (larger role) – the crusty cook who was probably a marine, Mrs. Parrish (Cameo) –residence of the nursing home and Nurse Ann (Cameo)
