Brunswick Little Theatre Announces Auditions For

 

ONE SLIGHT HITCH

 

Brunswick Little Theatre (BLT) will hold auditions for the comedy/farce One Slight Hitch by Lewis Black on 

Sunday, January 4, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm and

Monday, January 5, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm

8068 River Road in Southport. 

There will be cold readings from the script.  

 

Performances are February 19–March 8.   There are seven roles:

- a married couple aged 50-70,

- two men aged 25-35,

- two women, one aged 20-30, the other 30-40,

- and one character either gender, flexible age range.

NOTE: Now seeking additional role of teenage girl, approximately 16 yrs.

The show is directed by Rosina Whitfield. 

 

The play is best described as a farce 'with heart' filled with snappy wisecracks and slamming doors, but also thoughtful moments of social analysis and tender moments of love.

The plot concerns the character Courtney’s wedding day and last-minute frantic preparations are in full swing. But the sudden appearance of Coutney’s ex-boyfriend changes everything and soon chaos and emotions  abound.

The Bikinis

Brunswick Little Theatre's 2026 Musical features four “Jersey Girls” who are performing again after 20 plus years to raise funds to save the Sandy Shores Mobile Home Beach Resort. The musical features hits by girl groups including "It’s in His Kiss", "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini", "Heat Wave", "These Boots Are Made for Walkin’", "I’m Every Woman", "Under the Boardwalk", "I Will Survive", and more.

We are seeking four women ages 45 and up.

Auditions will be held in the Ryan Tewell Studio at Brunswick Little Theatre

8068 River Road

Thursday, January 15, 7:00 – 8:30 PM and

Sunday, January 18, 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

 

Those who audition will be asked to sing 16 to 32 bars (30 seconds to 60 seconds) of a piece of their choice, to learn and demonstrate a short movement sequence, and to read from the script.
